My Training Style

I adapt to my clients' needs, but generally I start by focusing on building solid strength and mobility foundations with a focus on compound movements and functional fitness. Once solid foundations have been reached, more complex movements that incorporate multiple planes of motion and movement patterns can be integrated. I love educating my clients throughout our sessions so that they can better understand how to approach their own training throughout the rest of their lives!

With my own training, I love novelty and variety! I like to combine calisthenics with strength focused resistance training, mobility, and more niche training methods such as the steel mace.

My Fitness Philosophy

As living creatures, our bodies are made to move; if we don’t use it we will lose it! We live immersed in all this technology and infrastructure; our modern environment is comfortable and we don’t move today like we used to throughout our evolutionary history, and so most of us need to make a conscious effort to keep ourselves physically active.

The body and mind are connected: when you affect one, you affect the other. I see fitness and movement as one of many pieces of the puzzle to living a more embodied life (that is, to strengthen the mind-body connection). I believe that physical training is a great place for anyone to start on their holistic health journey; the body is the interface through which we interact with the world, with our physical health directly impacting the health of our mental, energetic and spiritual bodies.

My favourite quote
"The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance."
