If you train on a regular basis, you should also be resting and recovering on a regular basis. One of the best ways to recover, is to have regular massages to help you train more effectively the next time.
We like to say, recovery is just as important as the workout. Whether you are a weekend warrior or train like an athlete, it is so important to take time out.
Your muscles need time to repair so you exercise safely and injury free. After you have a rest day, when you next train, you feel more energised so you can train harder and better than before!
The last thing you want to do is overtrain and put too much stress and strain on your body. Worst case scenario, you hurt yourself and be forced to take time out from your exercise routine.
There are many ways you can recover – you could do some “active recovery” such as an easy bike ride, a gentle walk or an easy swim. Maybe you could do a Pilates or Yoga class or some extra stretching.
But what about having a massage?
Let’s face it, who doesn’t love a good massage? It is something we usually do when we are on holidays. But what can massages help you on rest days?
The answer is absolutely!
There are so many compelling reasons to have regular massages such as reducing stress, lowering your heart rate, even helping you sleep better. But what about having a massage in between workouts?
Well consider the added benefits of a massage:
Helps reduce muscle stiffness and soreness
Helps to speed up muscle recovery
Improves blood flow in your body
Less likely to injure yourself
It’s great for your whole body and wellbeing
And it just feels fantastic
